Journal entry by Ryan White —
On Sunday afternoon Landon complained of head pain and began vomiting and lost some motor functions (balance, walking etc.). Based on his deteriorating state we rushed him to the ER and they immediately began working on him. It was discovered that he had a blood clot in the back of his brain. He was quickly intubated and went by ambulance (lights and sirens) to the OR in Oakland.
Once in Oakland Landon went straight to surgery and his neurosurgeon was able to move the clot from his brain. Landon is now recovering in the PICU and will undergo a few more scans and tests to 1) find out why the clot happened and 2) to make sure everything is ticking like it should in his brain.
Landon has progressed well the last 24 hours now it’s just waiting for him to fully wake up and get back to himself. Just another surgery and scar to add to this journey!
