Lakshmi’s Story

Site created on December 6, 2018

I have been diagnosed with low grade glioma on 2017 March 12 based on my MRI scans and was on wait and watch mode as I didn't had any symptoms.  After a long period of watch and wait , I had the laser ablation surgery on Nov 12,2018 to findout what kind of tumor it is. The low grade glioma had been confirmed as cancerous and it took the name "Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade 3" IDH1 mutation and undergone proton beam radiation treatment (30 sessions) in St louis ( Barnes Jewish hospital) beginning from Jan 21st 2019 to March 7th 2019.
Began taking the 12 cycles chemo maintenance at KU cancer center from May 2019.
