Journal entry by Kelsey Christensen

A new year, and a new start to healing for the Hallblade family! Kyle had a follow up appointment last week, where they took a CT that showed the bones are healing well; he has been cleared to start bending his knee slightly. He was also ordered to start physical therapy two times a week, with the hope that he will learn to walk on it again and regain complete function of his leg and knee. Hopefully, PT will be starting soon!

Kyle has been able to get off almost all of his medications, except a few at night. Praise the Lord! He is doing very well with crutches and a wheel chair. He is learning to navigate this level of recovery until further therapy is approved and pain management allow him to fully bend and walk again.

Kyle has also been able to go to work and sit at his desk to catch up on emails and phone calls. Huge win- Praise God! Thank you to everyone involved who have helped make this transition happen.

Next week, Kyle has a follow up plastic surgeon appointment- everything seems to be healing well, and Kyle no longer needs a wound care nurse or any aids. Another praise!

Please be praying for continued pain management for Kyle while he starts moving more and begins physical therapy.

Everything is a learning curve, and the Hallblades appreciate everything everyone has done to help them during this time. Kyle is still not able to care for Silas yet, so prayers for Shelby and Silas to continue to navigate this season during Kyle's recovery. Life is constantly changing for the Hallblades in this season, including Silas taking time to practice being a big brother!

Shelby is due in March, so please pray for continued strength and healthy pregnancy.

The Hallblades really appreciate all your prayers and help!
