Hi Everyone - This is an update on Galen - who has her 4th to last chemo today.  I just returned from a terrific week with her and Devon (and Vinnie) in Pacifica. I rented a very cute Airbnb a short walk from the beach and we settled in for a few lovely days in a spectacular spot.  I cooked, we walked on the beach, Devon swam in the freezing ocean, Galen rested and she and Devon got a much needed and deserved break from the city.  Galen has very little energy to even send a text much less talk on the phone but she is hanging in there with an amazing attitude.  She can still laugh at herself and crack bad jokes!! After chemo it will be a few weeks of radiation so the battle is far from over but her spirit is strong!  Thank you so much for continuing to check in - Galen loves hearing from people even if she can't really respond.  Devon is also amazing - I guess if you grew up surfing in the Pacific, a little dip in October is no big deal.  He is also attentive to all Galen's needs and is in serious competition for most compassionate man of the year! Meanwhile I just had my 3 month follow-up exam and am doing well. Vinnie was a champ on the drive to and from California and provided a lot of comic relief during the week!  Sending love to all who have been so responsive to the crazy turn of events we have faced this year.  I hope you are all doing well and cautiously re-entering life as the pandemic slowly recedes.  xoxoxxo
