Ask the PET scan technician about the half-life of your concoction. Mine was pretty short and it was comforting to know it would soon be inactive and out of my system.

Ah. So a PET scan. The first of many, I'm afraid. But what I might consider the least of all the necessary evils. My routine: morning PET followed by a day of pampering and solitude (i.e., sushi for lunch, then mani/pedi, then binge watch Project Runway) to recover from the barium blues. A good 24 hours and it will all be out of your system.
