High Kris 😉
This post and all comments were fun and educational! As usual, you’re our pioneer explorer thwacking your way through the leafy (pot) jungles to discover new territory.
Dr Livingstoned, I presume?

Hi Kris, I thought I'd send you this song in reply to your last update. Thank you for not only keeping us up to date on your fantastic progress, but for entertaining us too, with your wonderful writing! In the words of the immortal John Lennon, who took a lot more than THC, "Whatever gets you through the night" ! Much love as always xxx

Oh, it’s so good! So good that you’re writing. That you’re experimenting, staying open and tracking. That you’re sharing with us. That your fine people share back. That we live in a time where we have more options and more forums for learning about what’s available. Sometimes there are just too many options, yeah? I’m glad for the ways that you show up in this world, Kristen. I’m so happy that we get to be with you in this ... you endlessly inspire, amuse and amaze me.

On the cannibis note, I’ll throw some thoughts in:

every product is so different! The way it’s made, the strain(s) that are used, the way it’s grown, whether it’s dried, tinctured, carried by a lipid (fat), cold pressed, etc. and there is also the matter of what state you are in when you take the medicine. You know me, I also think that the way we “approach” the medicine makes a difference. Are we approaching the plant as sentient, as an ally? As a nutrient? As a gift from the Earth? Or are we approaching it from a more scientific mindset? There is no right or wrong here, only opportunities to explore how these various approaches might also impact how we feel upon ingesting or applying the medicine.
There is still come conjecture as to weather a very small amount of THC with the CBD (less than .03%) can help “drive” the anti inflammatory and anticancinogenic properties of the hemp (CBD). At that amount, there are no psychoactive effects...

I trust you to know what you need. I trust your health implicitly and vastly. I love you. We are so, so blessed with you, Ma!

Cheers to our moment-to-moment precious lives.

Love songs and warm, rainy day soup,
Cheyenne

Great update and information! I agree with Katherine on the CanaPunch for sleep. The dosage is very reliable. The same cannot be said for their packaging which seems to change every three months and I believe is designed by people who smoke serious amounts of pot (tamper proof involved one version where you couldn’t even get the bottle open). I recently found another drink called Dixie Elixer which clearly has non-high people designing the bottle. Also found some cute little mints, 5mg THC each which you could keep by your bedside in the event of night time nausea or sleeplessness. I don’t like the high feeling either so the trick is to take THC less that 30 min before sleep, otherwise you may find yourself laughing at the TV by yourself and eating every bit of junk food in the house. If you really need sleep take 5-10 mg THC plus one melatonin and BOOM, best sleep ever! It’s also important to ask which kind of THC is in the products you are buying. Indica is the relaxing sleepy kind of pot (look for the mints of this type), Sativa will wake you up, and you may find yourself wandering over to the yak herders house down the road looking for a party. Hi Kristen! I use pot for sleep. I don’t take it often but since I’m such an insomniac, need it when I’m really run down. CBD works well for nausea and pain, but THC is the thing that puts me to sleep. I take it at night, so I’m not aware of that stoned feeling because I’m falling sleep. There are varying concoctions so I wouldn’t toss THC out the window. . I had one batch of 10 mg THC and woke up after 7 hours of heavenly sleep completely stoned out of my mind. I didn’t like it. Now I take something called CannaPunch. It’s liquid so you can adjust the amount you take and try it out for a few nights and a few different strengths. . It’s a standard mix and most pot stores carry it.
