Kraig’s Story

Site created on September 4, 2018

Kraig' s story began Labor Day weekend. We were out for a bike read with friends, on our way to Fletcher's, on a hot sunny Sat.  The girls arrived at Fletcher's ahead of the boys, due to a flat tire. As the boys departed from the Dakota Trail, and started down the last road, Kraig started to slow down on his bike. His friend Dan looked over to see what was happening, and saw Kraig go rigid and fall to the ground where he proceeded to experience seizures. He was rushed to North Memorial where they determined he had a mass on his brain. After a week In the ICU, and the general neuro floor, they were able to stop his seizures and sent him home to wait for the biopsy report from Mayo. He had had no previous symptoms of headaches, double vision, etc.  It really caught us off guard since he eats and drinks so healthy, is in great physical condition, and cancer does not run in his family.

We have seen God's mercy in so many ways. Immediately upon falling, a passing motorist called 911, and helped deliver my friend and I to the accident scene. A retired firefighter was passing on the other side of the road and stopped to help, along with a nurse who assisted. Not one bone was broken and there were no other injuries from his fall.  So many friends, family, strangers, and acquaintances have reached out to help. We are overwhelmed by the goodness and generousity of all.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
