Journal entry by Kathy Hilliard

Our beloved Kortney passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from a major infection of the kidneys and liver.  Kortney was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and friend who touched the lives of those around her.  She leaves behind her sons Jeff and Ethan, husband Shawn, mother Toni, father Rick, brothers Josh, Justin, Jeremy and sisters Carrie and Kristen.

Kortney dedicated her life to bringing joy to family and friends.  Most knew her as the unnecessarily cheerful one as she was beyond bubbly.  Kortney was the baby of the family and extremely intelligent.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her boys.

Although Kortney spent most of her adult years struggling with various health issues, she constantly focused on making others smile.  She supported those in need and in recent months stood by her nephew who was in a horrific accident that left him in critical condition.  Kortney encouraged and loved others without expectation or recognition.

We are all devastated by Kortney's sudden loss at just 33 years old.  We weren't planning nor were we prepared for the costs of a funeral.  We need to raise $9,000 by October 30th in order to be able to afford her funeral service and help her family during this time of need.

Thank you so much for your support, prayers and donations.  We are truly blessed by each of you.
