Journal entry by Korrin Wheaton

I was diagnosed with MS in July of 2017. It was believed then, that after many undiagnosed ailments, that I was showing symptoms of MS 10 years prior. Since my diagnosis I’ve put on a front. In reality, not only do I struggle physically, but I struggle inside more than anyone knows. It’s effected my family, my relationships, and my own personal self worth. Recently I’ve decided that I can’t lay down to this life any more. I need to get the ol Rinny back. The fun, happy, confident Rinny. I’m not sure what my future holds but I realized the only way my life will be at its best for me, my kids and whoever else is in it, is to fight like hell. I’ve been researching about HSCT, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. They say MS has no cure, but this procedure has proven to halt MS in it tracks. It’s very time sensitive. I will post links, but in short, it’s proven to work. I’m hoping to have enough support from my family, friends and community, to achieve this goal. Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a humble person. It’s taken a lot of meditating to get me to this point of asking for help. After speaking with the coordinator at Clinica Ruiz in MX, I completed step one. The application. The ball is rolling and I finally have hope. This life is my own. But without the best me, I can’t be the best mom, partner, wife, whatever. This is my journey.....
