Here is an update on Kirk’s progress:
Hi everyone,
It has officially been 1 week since Kirk moved to the Capitol View TCU at Regions. He has made such great progress in just a week, it’s really quite amazing to see. He is staying so positive and his determination is inspiring. 😊 I know he gets frustrated with his speech impairment and his right sided weakness, but he is staying so strong. His doctors, nurses and therapists tell me that he is doing an exceptional job in his rehab sessions, he is a hard worker and a tough cookie!!! We are not sure how long he will be at Capitol View at this point, but we should know more in a week or so. It will all depend on his ability to walk and be safe from falls when he comes home. Ultimately, the next phase of his journey should be coming home and continuing his outpatient PT/OT/Speech, follow ups with his Neurologist, Neurosurgeon and Primary Care provider.
Due to Covid restrictions, Capitol View/Regions has limited visitors to 1 person per day. If you are interested in visiting Kirk, please reach out to me via Facebook messaging or via phone/text 651-247-7556. I am coordinating and monitoring visitors by day to ensure we don’t have overlap. There will be days that I need to be there for Care Conferences and updates with his care team, so I might need to adjust visiting days based off those situations.
Kirk and I want to thank you all for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support and generosity. We cannot begin to express how much this means to us! Please continue to keep Kirk in your prayers – he is doing such a great job. Every day I see more progress and hope for his recovery. I know he is using all the positive energy, thoughts and prayers to help him power through – it’s obvious to see!
All our love and gratitude,
Shannon and Kirk
