Kira, happy cancerversary! You are a survivor indeed. Thanks for opening up your heart and soul to share your healing journey with us so we could lift you and your sweet family up in prayer. No doubt your photo is in Webster's dictionary right next to the word PERSEVERANCE!

Following you this year (albeit too silently — hoping you have heard my thoughts) has been a powerful experience for me. You are an inspiration, old friend. Congratulations on this anniversary, and may there be many many more.

I find that anniversaries are helpful in marking time and recognizing how far you've come. For this anniversary, you have come so far and inspired everyone who knows you.

You are more than a survivor. You are a Thriver. Despite unthinkable circumstances, you have let in love and support, shared your journey with honesty and candor, expressed gratitude and appreciation each day, and maintained your endearing sense of humor. Your spirit has thrived while your body has recovered.

Here's to many more anniversaries. Cheers.

Oh Kira...I will miss your posts! I don't think I've missed a single one and have appreciated your williness to share your journey in this way! It has required great vulnerability on your part. Thank you for your wise insights, sense of humor, and honesty. I made a copy of the post where you talked about how difficult it has been for you to relax on the radiation therapy table......how unclenching has become for you a conscious choice.. You end by sharing the Elie Wiesel quote that reminds us that life is found not in a fist but an open hand. Such wise, helpful advice. I printed it so I could remember to apply it in my own life. I'm so glad that this year is behind you.. . Sending a big hug to you, Ross and your boys!

Keep shining, dear Kira, for years and years to come.
(I love you and your family ... and I am honored to be a part of #teamkira.)

I once read research that said cancer patients report the worst thing friends do is stop talking to them—don’t know what to say. You have mostly loudmouth friends like me who never stopped talking to you. Hope our sometimes awkward, verbal fumbling conveyed only love and support.
