The first hurdle Kimmie has is fertility.
The Chemotherapy she will be taking will make her infertile. In order to have children, she has to get her eggs frozen. This procedure is not covered by insurance and comes with a hearty price tag of $6,000 (after they took into account the discount for having cancer).
While Kimmie has tried to stay optimistic about this whole process, this one is a hard one to process. If you or anyone you know is aware of any programs that issue grants fast for this sort of thing (since it has to be done before she can start treatments), please let her know. Otherwise, she is in a position of having to raise a lot of money fast if she wants to have any chance of having her own little ones.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Kimmie's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
