Journal entry by Kim Croll —
We are working on getting this posted to the appropriate newspapers but in the meantime we want to share it here with you first. The Celebration of life changed to Saturday, June 4th at Noon at the Steamboat Community Center.
Retired master carpenter and video editor, Kim Bert Croll’s jovial nature and joy of family will carry on in all who loved him. Kim passed away on January 7, 2022 in Erie, CO at the age of 67 after battling pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy of laughter and compassion.
Kim grew up in Pueblo, CO then worked as a Master Carpenter most of his life in Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he raised his three children. On May 12, 2006 he received his bachelor’s degree at Trinidad State University in the field of videography, a lifetime dream of his. Teaching us all, it is never too late to follow your dreams. He worked at Trinidad State University until he retired. Throughout his life he never missed an opportunity to help a family member or friend with a carpentry project, traveling all of the US to assist.
The simple act of jumping into any body of water, especially the really cold ones, brought great joy to Kim. He loved spending time with his six grandchildren passing along his love of swimming and the outdoors. Kim had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel like family and left a lasting impression with anyone he met. Kim is survived by his aunts Clover and Mary; sisters Tracy and Melora; brothers Broc and Hunter; daughters, Serina and Kimberly; son, Zebulon; son-in-laws, Kraig and Joe; six grandchildren, Jaxon, Adilene, Landon, Skylar, Noah and Joziah and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on June 4th, 2022 at Noon at Steamboat Springs Community Center.
