Kim’s Story

Site created on September 14, 2021

For the past three years, Kim has been fighting an autoimmune disease called aplastic anemia. Her immune system has attacked her bone marrow and has shut it down. In hopes of curing this disease, she has temporarily moved to Tampa, Florida to undergo a bone marrow/stem cell transplant.  Please follow along to receive updates and to offer words of encouragement to Kim.

Journal entry by Chris Larkin

Day + 91! The doctor is letting me go home 10 days early! I’m beyond grateful to the top notch doctors, nurses, techs, etc at Moffitt Cancer Center! I could not have asked for better care! Without my brother Kevin, this would not have been possible! I am a very thankful to those who have helped with my girls, dogs, taking care of me, etc. The cards, text messages and phone calls helped keep me going! After 101 days, I am finally going home!

Steve is also going home.  Apologies to all those in the Northern Kentucky area in advance.  I kid Steve, I kid.
