Kiley’s Story

Site created on February 28, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Kiley has been struggling for doctors to hear her concerns and find answers to why she hasn’t been feeling well.  She finally advocated for herself enough to get results.  Unfortunately, the news was not what we wanted to hear.  Please, if you have obvious concerns/ suspicions about your health, listen to your intuition and advocate for yourself to get answers.

Journal entry by Kiley Ray

Hey everyone, my apologies for being MIA for the last few months, it’s been quite the emotional journey. I slipped into a depression and started to to keep to myself only talking to people when I absolutely needed to....you become very isolated and feel very alone. After that came the angry stage, I am still there some days lol. On top of that, I’ve also had a very busy summer with the kids home. I’m either sleeping, running kids back and forth to work, chasing the twins, did i mention sleepin?  lol. I certainly wasn’t busy cooking or keeping up with my housework because to top it all off i was and still am in a lot of pain and most days so tired I had to have 2 naps, which still never seems enough.

Cancer is awful in so many ways than just the cancer itself. When they say your family goes through it, that couldn’t ring more true. It completely turns your family’s life upside down. I have an amazing support system and I am very blessed to have everyone’s full support at any time.

I do want to thank all of you that have donated to my gofundme. My family and I are in awe of all the support we have received from so many of you. It brings me to tears, and I hope someday I will be able to pay it forward. It has been very stressful on us with only one income and you all have taken a huge weight off our shoulders.

I did finish chemo as most of you all know on July 22nd and have recently been cleared for a bilateral mastectomy August 20th. Now that it’s scheduled  I have to admit I’m getting more nervous, but I am keeping busy trying to get the kids ready for school, checking things slowly off my to do list, and spending  some quality time with Corey and the kids and family before I will be laid up for awhile.

I had a wonderful weekend with my cousin Dena, who came all the way from Indiana to visit. My Aunt Nancy and Mom joined us for hotel swimming, pizza, and lots of laughter. Followed by a day at the Zoo with the kids. Then a Sunday funday with family at my Aunt Janelle and Uncle Johns. A fun day of great food and great conversation. I have been trying to catch up on sleep ever since lol! I may have gotten a small lecture from my doc this Monday so I’m trying to rest more, but being a Mom never stops.

Well, now that I have y’all up to date, I’m going to get some much needed sleep. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your love, prayers, and support.

All my Love, Kiley 💕
