Kiana’s Story

Site created on November 23, 2020

On Sunday November 22, 2020, Kiana went to work riding pens at her work Feedlot near Iliff Co. She was found lying on the ground unresponsive in the alleyway of the pens. Her horse running away from her. It is suspected her horse spooked and she fell. It is unknown how she came to be on the ground. The back of her head was injured, fracturing her skull causing bleeding on her brain. She was airlifted to North Colorado Medical Center where the neurosurgeon quickly decided an operation was needed to remove part of her skull to relieve pressure on the brain and remove any blood or clots. Kiana is stabilized and being kept sedated to maintain low pressure on the brain. We ask for all healing prayers!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Todd Keller

Been awhile since I made an update. Kiana keeps on improving everyday. I am very proud of her. She has started working at the Roosevelt Park Zoo as an intern zoo keeper. She is working half days 5 days a week. It has been so good for her and she is trying really hard. They s is going to help her so much with her communication deficit, just being around co workers and the public.  In this pic she is helping clean up the winter shed from the camels. She has a great coworker, Ryan, who has bee showing her the ropes. This is a seasonal job that will end in September. She continues with her Occupational Therapy and has a tight bound with her therapist Allie. Pray for continued improvement.

Psalm 128:2

“You will definitely enjoy what you've worked hard for — you'll be happy; and things will go well for you.”
