Kevin’s Story

Site created on February 23, 2024

My sweet and wonderful Kevin has had Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) for many years, and he is now in stage 5, which is kidney failure. He is in the process with Mayo Clinic of being placed on the kidney transplant list. The healthiest and most promising option for him is a live donor. The ideal scenario would be to skip dialysis altogether and get a kidney within the next maybe 6 months.
Kevin is feeling great-he doesn’t feel sick at all (yet). Surgeons would like to see him get a new kidney before he starts to feel ill. We are all set up to get short-term disability pay when he finally does have to stop working.
Below are ways that you can help, but the most important thing we are looking for right now is people willing to go through the screening process to see if you might be a match! I likely am, but they won’t even look at me until I’ve lost 30 pounds. I’m working on that now.
Thank you in advance for your love and support as we navigate this journey.
