Kevin’s Story

Site created on July 4, 2018

July 3rd, 2018. Kevin Peachey had a fire-work explode into his upper right leg. Breaking his femur bone, his femoral (main leg artery) artery was distorted, and causing lots of blood loss. He was given 7 units of blood. At this point his leg was not getting any blood.
 Prayer is amazing, The blood loss stopped in his leg after The people Who were with him prayed. God is awesome.
  A life boat was near by and came to the scene right away. Then they took him by ambulance to Lancaster General Hospital. Where he under went a 4 hr surgery immediately- to fix things up and get blood flowing in his leg.
 We are not certain he will keep his leg , as we don’t know how much damage and how many nerves have been damaged. But he does have a pulse by his foot, which is a good sign because it means that blood is getting there.
 He has a very long recovery ahead of him. Lots of pain, Physical therapy.
 We thank God for all the miracles in this accident. He has a plan. We ask for everyone’s prayers;
 1: hoping and praying That he ecould keep his leg.
 2: That no infections would form in his leg.
 3: that his leg tissues will heal

Newest Update

Journal entry by Laura Peachey

 Im so sorry for the delay in an update.

 Kevin had surgery to do skin grafting last week, on Thursday July  26th. They took skin from a “donor”  site on his left leg, and put the skin over his wound in his right leg. This has, as expected, creates pain in his left leg.  He stayed over night Thursday night and then came home Friday afternoon.
 Therapy has been postponed until the doctor looks at the skin grafted sight, on Friday of next week. He will have to give his ok, to start therapy.
 They also have taken the vacuum off his lower leg wound and closed that up!!!
 His pain, since the surgery, has definitely been worse.
Pray that the skin grafting would heal over correctly. Pray also for grace for the pain!
