Stacy, Garrett, Kyle. Words can never express the pain we feel for your family at this most difficult time. Kevin/daddy was a wonderful human being who devoted all his time to his family. He loved you all so very much. Give yourselves time to grieve but also keep in mind there is no time limit to grief. We love you and are here for you!!
I was fortunate enough to meet the Matheny Family briefly at the start of summer at one of Garrett’s last baseball games. It only took me all of about 2 minutes to realize that this family reminded me very much of my own tribe, being that “salt of the earth”, unpretentious, non judgmental kind of people who can instantly put you at ease and make you feel welcome. It’s apparent that Stacy is the glue that keeps this family rock solid and I enjoyed being with her at the game. Kevin and I had a chance also to joke about the comedy of aging, frustration with our failing bodies and insecurities with our teeth!!! I feel fortunate to have spent those few moments getting to know Kevin and the rest of the family. My condolences to all of his friends and family.

Dear Stacy, Garrett and Kyle, words can't describe how terribly sorry we are about Kevin. We have so many awesome memories with you all starting back when Kyle and Kobe were in pre-school to last summer playing baseball. Kevin was always a hoot to be around and he will be sorely missed, we will hold those memories close to our hearts forever. We are thinking of you all and wrapping our arms around your family.
