Site created on September 24, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Kevin was first diagnosed with melanoma on the back of his left arm in 2015. Surgery was performed and an all clear was given with negative lymph node results. Approx 2 months ago Kevin started with some fatigue and just feeling not himself. After a couple of doctors visits it was decided to do a CT scan of the brain. On Thursday Sept 20th, 2018 Kevin had his CT done. On Sept 21st, 2018 we met with an oncologist and were given the results from the imaging. Kevin has been diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 melanoma in the brain with multiple lesions. We appreciate everyones thoughts, prayers and kind words.

Journal entry by Jenna Hirdler

Hello everyone !!! Jumping on to let everyone know that Kevin is NOT doing good .... It all started yesterday when he fell at 4am but landed on his butt still did a x-ray and nothing broke but found that he has pneumonia. Then hung out with him all day and was getting hospice set up cause as a family we decided to stop all treatment cause it was making him worse and was going to bring him home to Jenna's and make him comfortable. Then we left him and to hang out with family and got the worst phone call that Kevin fell and he broke his hip. So he got sent in to the hospital for more x-rays and it showed it was broken on the right side. So they are making him as comfortable as possible with morphine all of his other meds are stopped as well. We are not sure on how long Kevin has but they know he's not leaving it could be hours or days depends on when his body wants to go to heaven ❤️ please keep prayers coming ! Thank you we will keep you updated as much as can !
