Kevin’s Story

Site created on March 9, 2020

On the early morning of March 8th, Kevin was ejected as the passenger of a truck which rolled at interstate speed. He’s suffered multiple spinal, rib, sternum, clavicle, and hand fractures along with a large hematoma from a closed head injury and bruised lung and liver. He somehow managed to walk a mile after the accident to get help for his friend who was still trapped in the truck. Kevin seeks to reach full independence as soon as possible but, he’ll need to be out of work for some time as he heals. We greatly appreciate the outpouring of love and support.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Erika Berner

It’s been quite a while since our last post but, we wanted to give an update! Kev absolutely killed it in all of his PT appointments and has been taking regular 6 mile kayak trips to help stretch and strengthen his back and core. He still has a ways to go until he’s back to his full strength but, he’s been working so hard to get back in the game as quickly and safely as possible! We’re so grateful for all of the love, support, and help from so many friends, family, and co-workers throughout this wild 2020 ride.
