Day 225.

It's been 83 days since our last post, which, hard to believe, was last year, before Christmas! Time is certainly a funny thing, but most of all we hope you all know that during this time, there truly has been nothing to post. Awesome news, right!

On our last post, Kevin had what we hoped was his last Rituxin treatment. As it turns out, that one kicked him hard and caused his white counts to be quite low since then. He is finally on the upswing of the white count, but his doctors today decided there would be no more Rituxin and we were not sad to hear that!!!

Even better than that is that although the world is in crisis with the Corona Virus, Kevin is doing remarkably well.  His doctor just shook his head today and stated that all the transplant patients he's ever dealt with have had infections or some level of graft vs. host. Kevin is showing no signs of any and it is mind boggling and super wonderfulness all in one!

He's been a model patient and has made this all seem like a walk in the park. But the time is starting to get long for him. We are into the 8th month and he's a trooper.  He's managed to keep himself busy around the house and honestly, never complains. They are starting to reduce the meds and two weeks ago, gave  him his first round of immunizations.  But today, his comment was not unheard -- he's beginning to feel absolutely 'normal' and wants to get 'out of jail'.  As much as his doctors would love to release him, their first concern was that we are in the middle of flu season and now we have COVID-19 to contend with, so no, not letting him off his leash any time soon.

With all that, we came home a happy couple.  There's so much positive here and so much to be thankful for.  When I opened this site and saw the pic of our truck, camper and motorcycles, I know that those things are all ready and waiting for us and spring/summer will be here before we know it. I know that he will be mowing the lawn this summer and doing those things he loves & thankfully, I won't have to.  Me and the Dixie Chopper, well....let's say she and I were getting to know one another but we had some tough rides ;)

We are so thankful for all that each of you have given each of us over these last 8 months and continue to feel so incredibly blessed. We hope that you and your families are well and all get through this pandemic and back to life as you know it very, very soon.

So I started this post with a statement about how much time has lapsed since my last post and now, as I close, I can't help thinking about how quickly time does pass us by.  We are the lucky ones because in Kevin's case, time truly will heal and this time will be here sooner than we know.

With so much love and gratitude,

KC & Jojo 😍
