Journal entry by Monica Commins —
Kenley got the green light to go home yesterday morning. It is always a mix of emotions to walk away from the medical team that played such an active role in your care day after day. It is also hard to walk past the other patients and family rooms since they are still there battling and you get to go home.
Her levels came back low again so they changed her dose and will continue to monitor close. Today, Mom started the daily routine of flushing her central lines and administering her micafungin at home.
Kenley has been all smiles and has a new sense of energy being home with her family and puppies. Our home cooked meal tonight was nothing short of amazing. To have our whole family together with something other than a door dash meal was the best medicine yet!
We have clinic tomorrow and twice weekly moving forward. Her PET CT is next Monday. For now, we can remain home unless there is a complication. We pray we continue to be able to stay home.
Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support. You are the best! Please say an extra prayer for all of her cancer siblings she has met along the way.
