Journal entry by Ken Hanson —
I'm in my third year of kidney hemodialysis, a long three years as it permeates one's life. Poor-functioning kidneys causes fatigue anyway, and the dialysis adds to the tiredness after treatments. I searched for a kidney donor in 2019, and had a dozen wonderful people try to get through the assessment process. All were disqualified. In 2020, I focused more on trying to get onto home peritoneal dialysis, which would work very well. However, problems with internal catheter movement and infection necessitated a total of five surgeries, which left the peritoneal membrane so scarred that it didn't filter well enough. So I've re-started my search for a donor, and am also on the Type O waiting list for a cadaver kidney. Please contact me if you know of anyone who would be willing to donate a kidney (kenhanson13@protonmail.com). Thanks!
