Ken’s Story

Site created on September 6, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement.

We know this may be a shock to some and apologize that we cannot contact each of you personally.
Ken has bravely battled metastatic prostate cancer for 9 years. In the past few weeks, he has experienced a significant decline. He was admitted to SkyRidge Hospital on Monday, August 30th with ascites (excessive fluid in his abdomen), dehydration, and advanced kidney disease. Ken is not a candidate for transplant or dialysis due to stage 4 cancer and his age. He has navigated this difficult time with dignity and courage. His goals are to be comfortable and to be at home, and his family fully supports his wishes. Arrangements have been made for hospice care.

Ken is a man of great faith in Jesus Christ and he is at peace. "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness" are favorite hymn lyrics of his.  He is surrounded by his loved ones Bunny, David & Bethany. We appreciate your prayers for continued comfort and peace through these days ahead. We will update important information here and pass on your messages of prayer and encouragement. Please understand that we may not be able to respond to calls and texts as we are focused on Ken’s care and precious time together.

Isaiah 46:4 - "Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."
