Kenneth’s Story

Site created on March 7, 2021

On March 4th, 2021, our beloved Ken Deery suffered a large vessel clot stroke.  He is being cared for at Sacred Heart in Spokane, WA where he is currently in ICU monitor and controlling  brain swelling, a critical step to his road to recovery.   After the ICU he will continue his recovery in an inpatient stroke rehabilitation facility also in Spokane.   Anyone who knows Kenny,  knows that he is full of life and see's all the beauty within it we are confident he will continue to shine this beautiful spirit down his road to recovery.  Due to pandemic protocol, we are unable to visit him in person which is extremely difficult for the family, we ask for continued prayers and thank all of our amazing family and friends for your continued love and support.

Journal entry by Tammy Deery

So tomorrow I say goodbye to my home away from home here in Coles Corner outside of Leavenworth. I am so grateful to the Dalpaiz family for extending there home to me. He continues to make progress and is ready to take it to the next level..HOME SWEET HOME! We will depart around 10:30am and see how we fly solo home with his first car ride and sight seeing since 3/4/2021. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your continued support and will keep you up todate on his progress. Today we heard the best news based on the PT evaluations. They say he is scoring on tests that suggest he will walk. Does that mean "as usual" no but we will take it!! Thank you for the continued prays as our journey is still evolving and will continue with obstacles. Like with every obstacle coarse there are challenges but nothing we can't over come. We will just make the coarse corrections and keep on working hard for a very long time. I am hoping that his orientation will improve as we all know "Home is were the heart is" and now that is were his heart is yearning to be. God bless you all for keeping us in your prayers and  being with us in your hearts during this time. The Ken Deery Family.
