Kenneth S.’s Story

Site created on October 31, 2022

Ken was a loving father, doting grandfather, encouraging mentor and loyal friend.  He built enduring relationships and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, patience, intelligence, quick wit, and humor. He passed away on January 2nd, 2023 from a long graceful battle with Parkinson's/ Lewy body dementia.

Prior to retirement he served at the Fire Chief for East Bay Regional Parks District after a long career in fire management with the United States Forest Service. Ken loved  trains, good food, caring for his children, traveling the world(on a train) and doing things outdoors.

We're fast approaching May 18th, and that can only mean one thing: it's almost time for Ken's Celebration of Life! If you're planning to attend, please RSVP now so we can give the caterer a heads-up on how much extra cake to bake.

We've had a few calls from people who aren't sure if they scored an invite to the party. Well, worry not! If you knew and loved Ken, you're on the A-list. Childhood pals, high school buddies, college party animals, fellow firefighters, or work besties – all of you are welcome to join in the fun and celebrate the legend that was Ken Blonski. And if you're one of Ken's undercover friends, we want you there too! Ken's kids haven't given any thumbs up or thumbs down on the guest list.

So, let's make this clear: the more, the merrier!
