Journal entry by Jude Marvel —
This Wednesday will mark almost one month since Kelly was transported to Baltimore. There's been a lot of progress since then, but unfortunately some of that progress may have been misconceived. I was informed this weekend from University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) that they discovered patterns during her second MRI that lead them to no longer believe it was a stroke, judging upon what her MRI results depicted. While that is fantastic news because her healing capabilities are no longer suppressed by what doctors generally expect a stroke's recovery to look like, it is quite surprising because we no longer have a time table on recovery or an idea of what to expect. It is from the blindside, however the people at UMMC are doing their absolute best to figure out what caused the severe damage to her brain, despite her case being a mystery. Expect further updates as soon as the doctors and of course myself find out what's going on. Until then, I'm confident she's receiving the best possible care, and I remain hopeful in regards to any new discoveries.
