Kelly’s Story

Site created on July 31, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Kelly and Payge were in a serious car accident on July 28th which happened on Hwy 10.  Kelly sustained some pretty major bone breaks to her arms, legs and feet and is currently in the hospital under sedation and having surgeries. Payge sustained a minor injury to her arm but was released the same night to her dad.

This will be the main page that myself Andrea or Emery will put updates.  Emery has a lot on his plate at the moment and this will be the easiest way for him to get the updates out and still concentrate on Kelly.  Emery is so thankful for the prayers, well wishes and support.  Please feel free to leave messages and ask questions here and we should be able to answer and make sure that Kelly gets all the posts too when she is awake and well...  Thanks for all the support!!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Kelly Thompson

Happy Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas to all!

I realized I haven’t posted since July 28! That’s not good! I’m writing a small update and sending pictures.

I did have the foot shaving surgery for the bones on the bottom of my foot. It went alright, non weight bearing for 3 weeks but I adapted getting back into my shoes and brace by working hard for 4 weeks.

The June surgery has still left me with a decent amount of pain in my right leg when I’m walking and exercising. The surgeon says it’s still healing!

I’ve mainly been using just one cane while getting around, and in the house sometimes without a cane! If I go into a store I use an electric cart.  I usually use one of those because I don’t want to get tuckered out or create more pain than I’d need to.

I have been driving some. I bring the girls to school and pick up! This has given me such an independent feeling and purpose! I don’t drive to extra places just to drive.

I’m very thankful for what I’m blessed with. I have such a wonderful family along with friends! We have Health and happiness! I can walk with still more room for improvement!

May your holidays be rich of love and health!
