Newest Update

Journal entry by kelly johnson

It's definitely not easy to write about yourself, especially when things are tough.  I know I haven't updated in a long time and I apologize for that.  It was a long difficult winter and I'm so happy it's over.

I finished chemo in March.  After switching the chemo meds, the side effects got much worse. I  begged my doctor not to have to take the last dose and she agreed that the horrible side effects I was experiencing outweighed the benefits of one more dose.  Chemo is just as awful as people think it is and I really pray I will never have to go through it again.

I spent May going to radiation.  I went Monday through Friday for 5 weeks.  I loved my radiation team and they made my treatments much more tolerable.  I did get burns from the radiation but overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I had my pelvic MRI in April to see if there was a mass in my uterus.  It turned out clear!!  That was such a relief.

I am scheduled for ovarian/fallopian tube removal June 24.  It's outpatient surgery so recovery shouldn't be too bad.  Hopefully, between the surgeries, chemo, radiation, and endocrine therapy for 5 years, we will stop any spreading of this horrible disease.

Thanks for the continued support and prayers.
