Kelby’s Story

Site created on December 16, 2021

Hello everyone.
Kelby is in ICU at MUSC in Charleston.  It has been a really tough week.   The doctors are doing the best they can and he is hanging in there.

I am helping Magan get this site up and running to keep everyone up to date as much as possible.  She will add entries as things progress to inform everyone.   She is so grateful for everyone’s concern and has had to field so many calls that under the current circumstances is very overwhelming.  She is trying to focus on the immediate situation at hand and handle it with as much courage and strength that she has.   Please be patient as she maneuvers through uncharted territory.  She will update the site daily if possible but please give her and the family some time to adjust and she will contact anyone if ther is an immediate need.   Please feel free to comment and  look through the site.  Please check and post on this site instead of phone calls so she can leave the lines open for hospital staff to call .  She can’t be with him 24 hours a day like she wishes.  She will post when she can.  Thank you.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Magan Crawford

Kelby has had a really good past couple of days. He is now down to 60% on the vent, and this is allowing the ECMO to do it’s job and for his body to get some much needed rest. His swelling is continuing to go down and vitals are remaining the same. Thank you so much for all the continuous love, prayers, & support.
