Newest Update

Journal entry by Luc Ramthun

Dad is making excellent progress!  Follow up appointments are going great.  His physical therapy is going good and his physical abilities continue to grow.  He has earned independence and can walk on his own unassisted. Unreal.
He passed the neurosurgeon memory/cognitive tests with flying colors.
He is on the track for being discharged from this facility and we have follow up meetings on that as we plan next steps.

IMPORTANT UPDATE for friends and family: ZUMBROTA CARE CENTER HAS SHUT THEIR DOORS TO OUTSIDE VISITORS due to Covid-19.  Any residents with visitors or outside appointments will be quarantined to their rooms for 14 days.

We obviously do not want that for dad so we would like to err on the side of caution until we know more about this awful virus and scare that is spreading around.
I'm not as concerned dad is extremely vulnerable to this (he may be...I don't know), but I think it is more for the other elderly residents who may be most negatively affected by an outbreak in the facility.

Dad also recently took part in the Mayo Brain Aneurysm support group and met a bunch of other people who have gone through the same experience.  He enjoyed it, and we all had a good time there.  I look forward to that continuing for him as they meet each month.

Thank you again for all of your help and support.  Also great thanks to my brother Jay who has made a ton of sacrifice and taken a ton of time to ensure dad has what is best daily.  He stepped up during  my busy times at work, and now it is time to continue to work together towards the future.
Much love,
-Luc
