Site created on February 6, 2020

On January 31, 2020 Keith was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. He has a large (painful) mass under his right armpit and many nodules covering his lungs. He has a long road ahead of him and his doctors are optimistic that with Immunotherapy treatment he can kick this cancers ass! We are using the CaringBridge website to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!

Journal entry by Sarah McCarthy

Keith developed vasculitis in his ankles the last couple weeks. He met with his doctor yesterday and she informed him that he can no longer continue the treatments due to the side affects. This is not the news we wanted to hear - these treatments have worked miracles against his cancer. The doctors did a lot of blood work yesterday do see if maybe its something else...so at this point we are praying it is Lupus so he can continue his treatments. We ended our morning phone call laughing with tears. Please keep him in your thoughts & prayers and reach out to him! If you didn't know, Keith is working at Jen's Guest House in Willow Springs - right now he's only there Tues. & Thurs. - he would LOVE to see each and every one of you!
