I was diagnosed with stage 3 to 4 pancreatic cancer on 01/12/2022. The test showed that there was a tumor on the head of the pancreas as well as a tumor on the liver that were consistent with malignancy, as well as some small tumors in the mesentery.   I have been referred to the James Center at Ohio State University for further evaluation and testing.

It was certainly shocking news for me and our family.   Yet,  I have told my family from the very first day of diagnosis that God has given me, " a peace which passes understanding, " which only comes from  faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I have been resting in Psalm 23 and have read it at every prayer meeting that has taken place for me. I have had no sleepless nights since my diagnosis. I have had no concerns or worries other than for my family.

I have been praying that God would grant me the ability to see my daughter Jocelyn Joy walk down the aisle at her wedding one day by her daddy;  to see my son Jacob graduate from UC with his Aerospace Engineering Degree and to see him get engaged and married to Mara;  and to see my daughter Brianna and son-in-law  Derek have my first grandchild.  All of these things I have just taken for granted that this would be inevitable. If God grants me these things,  I will give him all the praise and glory but if he doesn't, I will still give him all the praise and glory.

I have lived a very blessed life above and beyond anything I could ever ask for or imagine!  We have agreed as a family, not our will but the Lord's will be done.

A Psalm of David.23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2     He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3     He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.
