Kayt’s Story

Site created on April 9, 2020

On April 2, 2020, Kayt left the ER with the diagnoses of Cancer, words we never expected or wanted to hear. On that same day, she went in for a biopsy of her stomach. We received the the diagnoses of Adenocarcinoma, primary stomach, invasive poorly differentiated, diffuse type, signet ring cell. We had the diagnoses and had no idea what it all meant. On Wednesday, April 8th she had her phone appointment with her oncologist. He confirmed Stage 4 Stomach cancer, inoperative, incurable. The cancer has spread through her peritoneal area, including the liver and ovaries. If she chose to not do treatment the outlook would be about 6 months. She has chosen to do chemo which will increase the outlook to about a year.

Kayt will be starting chemo on Tuesday, April 14 at Kaiser Santa Teresa in San Jose.

Kayt has a huge community of friends, family, and church family. We are so grateful for the out pouring of love and support that has been shown.

We understand and appreciate the support everyone would like to give. Currently, there are not a lot of needs besides financial as she is accumulating medical expenses. As she is not eating at this time. Gift cards to help with transportation would also be extremely helpful. We are not planning a "gofundme" account but would like to utilize Venmo, Zelle, and even a check as options for those who are inclined.

Above all things, Kayt would appreciate written cards of support during this difficult time.

Thank you for the continued love, support and prayers! Prayer is powerful on many levels.
