I've been through a similar process, obviously yours is more involved so not drawing parallels by any means. I am still going through check-ups to make sure cancer is lurking around the corner. I chose to joke about it as my philosophy is if you can't laugh at yourself then others won't enjoy laughing with you.
Your nerves are normal, this isn't something you do everyday. Just make sure this isn't your surgeons first time. That is one of my questions going into surgery, how many of these have you done? I'm sure they are very experienced and will take pride in doing everything in their power to have you a brave, powerful 21 year old back to her new normal as soon as possible.
Wow! The way you express your thoughts and feelings is beautiful! I can’t imagine the emotions you’re going through. But being a bystander in your journey, I see so many positives! I see a family that absolutely adores you! I see friends that are there to support you! I see growth and maturity beyond your years! I see an overcomer! I see a testimony! I see a beautiful story full of ups and downs unfolding! You are doing fantastic! God has you in all of this. Sources say that the name Kaylee biblically comes from Chaeli a derivative of the Hebrew name Mi-ke-el meaning who is like god with connections to the archangel Micheal. The good lord is always there to help you through the tough times as well as help you enjoy the good times. I can not imagine the pain and the worry that you are going through but take comfort in knowing that you are not alone. The maturity that you have shown and the manner in which you have been able to cope with this terrible thing called cancer has been an inspiration not only to those that know you but to all that come in contact with you! You are a Warrior Princess that has shown us all how to be strong and loving at the same time. How to not only live life but enjoy it as well. The good lord will you get you through this to help you inspire more of us everyday. Know you are loved and know that you are never alone.
Deb Hall: Kaylee you are such an amazing and honest person. You have every right to feel both fear and panic with your upcoming surgery. It is wise to own your feelings where cancer is concerned: it definitely has been an unbelievable journey for a person your age. But you have battled and faced every aspect of this diagnosis with a maturity most of us could not have mustered. Yet, you inspire us at every turn. I cannot imagine your thoughts and you express them so well here. How helpless we feel. Cancer is the most dreaded of all diseases but remember this: it is curable and you are on your way to that cure. We must hold onto that hope. You are loved beyond all measure and you will never BE alone in the days ahead, even if you FEEL alone. We are cheering you on and feel that God has brought gifted doctors/staff into your life. How I wish I could take your anxiety away. But know this: your resiliency has brought you this far—-your perseverance has earned you a college degree, and frankly, you are the unstoppable Kaylee Coffing. You are spectacular and cancer is now realizing it is messing with the wrong girl. Love you so. You will do fine.
