Journal entry by Terra Aalvik —
Kay has passed. She went gently this morning, February 4th, at about 8:10 am. Her husband Ed and daughters Tamryn and Terra were with her. We all held onto her in her final moments and sang her the long time sunshine song.
Kay decided it was her time. She was very clear about her wishes in her last few days. When she took a turn for the worse last night she asked to go.
Kay slowly came off the oxygen support last night around 1 am. She was made comfortable and continued to breathe under her own power until this morning at 8:10 am.
Kay was in a peaceful sleep for those hours. We sat around her and talked to her, played her music and gentle sounds, and chanted for her.
She was not alone. She wasn't in pain. She knew how loved she was and is in a better place now.
Thank you all for loving this precious woman. She will always be in our hearts.
May the long time sun
Shine upon you
All love surround you
And the pure light
Within you
