Katrina’s Story

Site created on August 19, 2018

On January 5, 2018, I received a phone call that no one should ever receive, “Your biopsy came back positive for Paget’s Disease of the Nipple, a rare form of breast cancer.”  A second biopsy came back positive inside the breast with grade 3 cells, which is very aggressive. Since the cancer spread to the surrounding breast tissues, it is referred to as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS). Later, a third biopsy revealed that the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes.

Once I heard the overwhelming news, I listened to the doctor’s treatment plan. She recommended surgically removing all of the lymph nodes in my left arm, a mastectomy, along with chemo and radiation. When I hung up the phone, I made the decision to stand firm in faith. “No surgery! No chemo! No radiation!” I truly believe that God can heal me! I began quite a spiritual battle with my friends and family...

I completed a 40-day fast… then completed a 21-day Daniel’s fast of only veggies. It wasn’t easy! Though, I felt good through May and June.  In July, my symptoms got worse. Now August is here and I realize that I can’t do this on my own!

On August 15, I met with an integrated specialist named Sylvia. She combines traditional medicine with complementary medicine and explained how she is able to monitor my health records and develop a custom treatment plan according to what my body needs. For the first time, Terry and I feel peace!

August 21 is the first step to her assessment. I will be getting infrared thermal imaging and blood tests. I have already started a vigorous medication schedule and am committed to doing everything possible to rebuild my body. Going forward, we are preparing for nutritional therapy, regular blood tests, adjunctive natural therapies, IV therapies, chemo, and surgery.

This is a very emotional and overwhelming time for our family and we are motivated to win this battle! With heavy hearts, we are forced to humbly ask for financial help.  Please prayerfully consider what you can provide, no matter how small. There will be treatments and unexpected bills over the next several months. We will welcome prayer, meals, time, and financial assistance… with sincere gratitude! God bless!
