Journal entry by Tricia Gray

The surgeons at NIH were able to remove the tumor from Kathy’s right lung. They ended up taking the upper lobe as well to give them enough margin of healthy tissue. This should not effect Kathy much, if at all. They will have another procedure after she heals to take out the smaller and easier *knock on wood* tumor from the left lung. She was doing great after surgery and was talking to us and thanking everyone for their prayers and well wishes. She needs a lot of rest to heal and will be in a good amount of pain due to the technicalities of the procedure. She will be staying in ICU for at least a day and then will be in the hospital for another 4-6 days after that. She is a trooper and we are so proud of her and her strength! Great job mama! We love you!!
