We spent many happy days with Sarah, and my brother Nate with Jeremy, as childhood friends. Karen was a big part of that. I remember her laughter and I remember one of the first times I visited their house, her telling me it was okay to just talk. She had a directness about her I probably didn't understand that well back then. Learning of her illness and passing has been an incredible shock and sadness. Our hearts go out to the whole family. We are so very sorry for this tremendous loss. It is so very hard to lose your mother! You will be reminded of her in so many small things that come along every day in your life.
