Karen - Thanks for sharing your COURAGEOUS self and the realities of facing the difficulties of a long-term cancer diagnosis and the treatments that accompany it!

I feel your pain and relate closely to everything you wrote; I was diagnosed in November 2019 with Stage IV cancer, and, like you, feel the toll it is taking on my body and my memory. BUT....We Are HERE! Here for our children, here to experience the fun, despite the pain, here to enjoy the spring and summer and spend time with our four-legged friends! Your transparency is beautiful and bound to help others (I plan to watch the TED Talk - thanks for sharing!)

Girl Power....you are not alone- here fighting with you and keeping you in my prayers for total healing...we can get there, technology is advancing everyday. Let's get those cancer treatments kicked to the curb and onto something less impactful on the good parts of our bodies (I'm pretty sure you and are on the same treatment...) - Thinking of you and your family - may the symptoms lessen and may you have a great week!

Hello my dear friend coming at you from Tokyo its 15:10 on Wed. Yes military time for me why not along with Yen, Celsius, metrics, left side elevators cars walking etc. not to mention train system and the cherry on top Japanese. With “all” this expectation I hear your words and feel I can relate in my own way. Keeping the balance for both our physical and mental wellness is always the goal. Trying to give myself grace and Dean while still pushing myself as you say to stretch the box and continuously keep it full. Keep swimming girlfriend with my love:)

I hope your trip to VT is easily managed and gives you the desired joyful socialization without the exhaustion., it is hard to control all the factors when you are not in your own safe space. You are very brave! 🤗

I love reading your posts. I hope you have a great trip out east; I'll be in the Chicago area this weekend visiting family. I'd love to see you sometime when I'm in the area; I plan on being around the Chicago area a little bit this summer. Enjoy spring!!

Just yesterday I signed on to Caring Bridge to see if I had missed a post from you. I am so glad to hear from you even when, as you say, there is not much to say. That is never my take on what you write. I hear a young woman letting us know what her days are like; one that always encourages us to find our balance and find our happiness. While it differs for all, your story reaches me in ways I never imagined. While I knew you before cancer, I feel like I am getting a much better picture of the beautiful woman named Karen!

That balance between hunkering down and getting energy from the social part of life is hard. Love how you keep at it! 💜❤️💜
