Karen’s Story

Site created on July 26, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  On April 3, 2020, Karen went to the emergency room with severe upper abdominal pain.  It was only through some additional testing that week that we learned she had small bowel ischemia that caused colin damage as well as pancreatic and liver cancer. Her oncologist and doctors gave her a less than a six-month timeframe. Karen and Roger together decided that she would come home on hospice. Karen's response coming home on Hospice was "It is well with my soul." Since April, Karen has been enjoying cards, flowers, texts, phone calls, and visits from her many friends and family.  Karen is at peace, and she has said that she is ready when God calls her home. She is coming close to hearing His call. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
