Journal entry by Melody Nolan —
In my more observant religious days, I faithfully honored the Sabbath from Friday at sundown until Saturday at sundown by refraining from work, social media, television, and phone. I associated peace with quiet.
These days, the greatest peace I find is in the refuge of songs new and old, from Broadway to rock and roll. Tonight I sang the first song for which I became known at Sounchaser karaoke: "Fame!" It is interesting how lyrics take on new meaning: "I'm gonna make it to heaven...baby remember my name!" Please do. My name is Melody, and you can find me in the space between notes that creates harmony.
