At last year's grief retreat, Kitt heard from some other widow parents that the second year is harder.

It signals a "new normal" without Kandis.

This has been true over the past year's holidays and Kyliana's birthday.  It will be true on Tuesday, March 21st, their wedding anniversary. 

It's true when news of others' cancers comes up. Recently, Kandis' dear friend Jill Potter's cancer came out of remission.
