Had a really good week last week. Went to chemo on Thursday to start my second cycle. Feeling pretty good. Little loss of appetite and fatigue but doing good. Went to radiation oncology at UCSD on Friday. Great appointment! The doctor was so kind and encouraging. I feel super blessed to be going there. He said a lot of insurance won’t cover proton therapy which astounds me when it just sounds so overwhelming better than other radiation. They can focus a high intensity radiation to a target area that instead of traveling through the rest of soft tissue behind the target it will just stop making it less damaging to surrounding areas and risk of other forms of cancer down the road are minimal.

  Overall I’ve been pretty good and optimistic. It’s still a lot and I get overwhelmed easily, but I’m doing better. This is just my new normal for now till I get better. And I will.
