Journal entry by Kristin Britton

Imagine this…someone tells you that in 3 months you will need to take a test.  The process will suck but it will be nowhere near as bad as the anxiety of “fate waiting.’ You see, this test may reveal that your life as you know it will come to a screeching halt.  Everything will change.  Your heart will be ripped out as you watch your baby, your everything, get thrown into the arena where survival will hang in the balance.  A real life ‘cancer coliseum’.
This is hard.  But…as a friend reminded me, most people are dealing with hard shit.  Probably a different mound of shit but it still stinks.
As we approach our 2 year diagnoses date, Kaleigh continues to amaze me.  She strives to pay it forward and to live fully.  She is excelling in her academics, she makes good choices, and she loves deeply.
I think we have both learned that friendships and support are often situational.  We will always be stronger then the issue.
