Since March we have been traveling back and forth to Chicago for treatment involving the Sonocloud ultrasound device and receiving a dose of chemotherapy. Yesterday, May 5 we went for an update MRI to check the status of the tumor and the effectiveness of treatment. Unfortunately, it showed results we didn't hope to see. The tumor is showing regrowth in the same spot that was resected during the last surgery in March. In short, this basically means the chemotherapy drug I was on is not effective. The doctors have suggested a change of treatment. While we are devastated at this news, we remain hopeful that better days are ahead. We've been presented with two new options. One involving the ultrasound device with a different, stronger chemotherapy drug. This specific chemotherapy has been used to treat other types of cancer but never in the setting up combining it with the ultrasound device that opens the blood-brain barrier. I would be the first to undergo this combination - thus they can't predict or prepare for what the side effects or effectiveness might be. The second option is a chemo drug I have been on in the past combined with a third drug. 

While details are still being sorted out, we will most likely make a decision on how to move forward by early next week. 

We are continuing to ask for prayer as we make another decision on how to move forward. God is sufficient and has guided us thus far and we are relying again on him to continue to do so.
