Our first day home, Justin was very emotional. I didn’t realize how hard it was going to be fir him. He misses being in the hospital. He misses the hospital bed and the TV. He misses having his meals delivered to him. And I think most of all, he misses the attention, everyone focused on him and helping him to get better. He liked the drs coming in and teasing him. He liked the nurses playing at round with him.
And I completely understand. When you are a patient, you are a star. Everyone cares about you and how you are feeling. I remember, after my surgery, when I was transferred from the ICU to the rehab. I went from getting round the clock attention to having to wait 30 minutes or longer for help to go to the restroom,
We are trying to be patient and understanding with him. It’s hard right now.
