Julie’s Story

Site created on November 15, 2021

Hello,

Four years ago, Julie was diagnosed with Vulva Cancer and beat it through radiation and chemo.

After a year of remission, the cancer came back and spread, and on January 7th, 2022, she underwent a pelvic exenteration. She was in the hospital for a month and had a tough recovery.

Unfortunately, this July, Julie's cancer came back again and metastasized. The doctors confirmed that it is in her pelvic bones and lymph nodes.

In September, Julie made the brave choice to enter hospice, and we supported her through end-of-life care. On Tuesday, October 4th, Julie passed away and leaves behind her 4-year-old daughter and husband, Dave.

Thank you all for your kind words, support, and grace as our family navigates this difficult time. Please continue to donate blood when you can.

Please help us support their family. We are raising money to fund daycare for her daughter over the next year and a half. Julie was a stay-at-home mother, and we want to support Dave while he navigates being a single father.

Love,
The Grooms and Marengo Families
