Julie - I talked to Faith last night, and she told me about your situation. I just want you to know that you are in our thoughts big time. As you probably know, I spent a great deal of time on Caring Bridge updating friends and family on my health issues. The residual effects of the surgeries and strokes is that I have brain issues too. All I can tell you is that you just kind of have to put it out of your mind, stay positive and just keep chugging along. To a lot of people that will sound ridiculous, but when you are on the other side of the conversation, it makes sense. Sending you thoughts of love and strength. Derek, Kelly, Madeline and Sophia

Hi Julie - this is Larry, your neighbor right across the street. I was distressed to hear the news, and even with somewhat similar personal experience, I can only imagine what you're going through. I have always seen you as the best kind of neighbor: kind, gracious, articulate, always ready to help. I have always admired you and your family, and have considered you all to be an anchor for this neighborhood for as long as I've been here. I suspect that you are a very strong person and that facing your own mortality (as I have and as we all must) has allowed you to see through to a deeper level of reallity, one free of fear, and filled with light.

So glad to hear about the new oncologist and his positive, supportive attitude. We're so glad Julie's medication is helping with the mood swings, too.
